Will you please host a website at btcentralplus.com? The world over, for many resons has gown to dislike BT. This is one more reason that demonstates this is well founded, The problem is its neither professional or good practice to do what BT does but... If someone sends a mail to a btconnect.com address & for some reason the mail gets returned, The headers of return mail have the domain name BTCENTRALPUS.COM injected into them Now heres something really bad, Ive noticed several times, returned mail with btcentralplus.com injected in the mail header, the mail certainly didnt leave my server with it, so why should it pick that up when the domain it was sent to was btconnect.com. The domain has no A record - btcentralplus.com doesnt resolve so if you send mail to a server which does reverse DNS lookup, it will find nothing & chances are it may automatically blacklist your mail address as the sender, despite the fact you are sending mail with perfectly legitamate intent. How bad is that? This really is very wrong as well as being very mal practise and there already a few of banned IPs in the RBL we have dealt with who were not spammers. There must be some reason for it but I cant think of one yet, other than deliberate misrepresentation of a senders email... So in our opinion: AVOID BT BROADBAND Other good reasons to avoid BT include: Phorm, BT carried out secret trials with this service that monitors your internet browsing habits by a third party company run by a group of ex soviet spys. The Phorm system profiles your browsing & feeds adverts to your browser based on the sites you visit, under the guise of a service called 'Web Wise' . This is wrong in our opinion, just search for Phorm one search for Phorm is wrong returns hundreds of individuals & groups of people concerned about its use and the companies intentions. Our own take on BT and its various issues is here
So a very big NO thank you to BT & Phorm The opinions expressed here are personal and collected following several years of ADSL installation & domain hosting. Even if we were paid to use BT, we wouldnt as we value our sanity & privacy |
